Panasonic hdtv tc-p50s2 Review – I’m very pleased

Article by marisela Kelly

Well , i bought this Panasonic Panasonic TC-P50S2 about 5 days ago. I’ve go through lots of posts and details regarding the way to look after this and all new Plasma Televisions. Firstly I load all the setting in fact low, and I’m in theatre setting. I put all setting close to 50, this is just for the earliest 100 hours or so. Burn in process. I’m ensuring that there are no static photos on the screen for no longer than a good 10 minutes. And I’m also holding the entire screen full.

So before I recieved my Panasonic hdtv tc-p50s2 I called Panasonic to inquire a few questions in regards to the Tv. I got a human on the line in about 1 minute. She was pretty helpful, she told me to do the items I in the list above except for putting all setting about 50, I learn that on a number of other websites. She did mention that cinema is the best picture setting, and to don’t use VIVID. I asked her if its a good TV for playing games, I’m using 360 and very quickly my PS3 for Blurays; her answer was that plasmas aren’t great for video games due to static images, like health bars and radar etc… She uses an LCD for her video gaming. Then I thought to myself, Panasonic doesn’t make LCDs, or do they? Nevertheless I considered to myself what does a female know about game playing anyway, its 1 in 100000 that I’ll find a woman who can keep up with me in COD, Halo, and any fast paced action shooter. So I made the decision to move against her word about the video gaming and I picked up this TV. Up to now I’m 100% content with the gaming experience.

The single thing I’m waiting for is the burn in process to finish. After I break in the T.V. I’ll adjust the setting to D6500, there is an entire website on which setting to use. I won’t access the service menu, only when my warranty is up.

Anyway I’ll surely update this review once I finish the burn in process, so far I probably have around 30 hours logged on the TV. An excellent function I’ve used on a daily basis could be the graphic retention option in the menu configurations. If there is a ghost image from watching or playing games for too long. You go to this option and the display screen will turn black, a write bar will go left to right on your screen, the Panasonic lady said leave on for 15 min. if you have image retention/ghost image. I haven’t had one, but I’m just being quite careful with this Panasonic TC-P50S2. Its the first Plasma that I have had.

Oh yeah, for every input you must adjust them independently. I discovered this when my 360 games were a bit fuzzy, then I changed to cinema and lowered the configurations and it looks great.

I’ve been a game player since original Nintendo. And i really like HD Games/movies. I always do my research on purchasing expensive items. I chose to take my chances with this Panasonic 50-inch HDTV tc-p50s2.
